What this site keeps

Short, because there is not much. Last updated 8 October 2026.

Counting visits

If you accept the cookie notice, Google Analytics records which pages are visited, roughly where from, and on what kind of device. It does not tell me who you are. Accepting lets Google set its own cookies, named _ga, to tell one visit from the next. Declining later stops it sending anything; your browser settings can clear the cookies it already set. If you decline, it never loads. You can change your mind with Cookie settings at the foot of any page.

Liking a thought

Pressing like or dislike, on a thought or on a comment, stores a random number in a cookie in your browser, set the first time you vote and kept for two years, so the same browser cannot vote twice. The server keeps a scrambled form of that number next to the vote and nothing else. No sign-in is involved.

Commenting

To comment you sign in with LinkedIn or Google, which send this site your name, your profile photo and your email address. Your name and photo appear beside your comment. Photos load from LinkedIn or Google, so your browser fetches them from their servers when you read the comments. Your email is never shown; it is used only to recognise my own account, so my replies can be marked as the author’s.

A cookie keeps you signed in for 30 days, or until you sign out. While you are signing in, a second cookie lasting ten minutes makes sure the sign-in finishes in the browser that started it.

Comments, votes and sign-in details are stored on the server that hosts this site and are not shared with anyone.

Removing what you wrote

You can edit or delete your own comments at any time. Deleting one removes its text and your name from it.

To have everything this site holds about you removed, including your sign-in record, email munawarkhel@gmail.com from the address you signed in with.

The contact form

A message sent through the contact page is emailed to me and is not stored by the site.
