( The pitch )
The proposition
A companion app for the International Telecommunication Union's global event. The pitch positions it as more than a programme listing: onboarding frames the app as a networking and messaging platform for attendees, so the schedule and the people at the event are treated as one product rather than two.
Design direction
Expressive and brand-forward, unusually so for a professional conference product. Deep navy grounds carry abstract painted brush strokes in pink, teal, and white, layered over attendee photography and circular portrait clusters. The effect is closer to a culture festival than a telecoms summit, which is the persuasive move: it sells the event as something to attend rather than something to register for.
What was designed
- Branded splash carrying the event identity, edition year, host city, and dates
- Onboarding framing the networking proposition, with clustered attendee portraits and a Get Started action
- Events home with search, a location context, notifications, and a profile entry
- Newest Events feed where each card carries a date block, event imagery, organiser attribution, time, and a tier tag such as Premium or VIP
- Bottom navigation across the main app areas
What it demonstrates
Event and conference UX combined with a strong art-directed brand treatment. A single-composite pitch, so its value is in the visual positioning rather than depth of flow.
